How to cook stewed cod for a tasty dinner

In this closing period we cannot leave the house and consequently we cannot go to restaurants. I don’t know about you, but I really miss this thing. Not because I’m not able to cook, I’m certainly not a chef, but I’m doing quite well. Always and in any case with the help of my husband, who is even better at cooking than I am. Today we want to take you to our kitchen, giving you the recipe for a tasty dish, one of those that can also be eaten in the evening without weighing it down. Let’s talk about stewed cod.

To be honest I have never eaten this dish in the restaurant, it will be that when I go there I choose more elaborate dishes, like something that is difficult to cook at home. Often at home I do not cook certain dishes, such as mixed fried, difficult to make and then also to chase away the smell of frying oil.

How to cook stewed cod

First let’s see together what ingredients are needed to prepare this dish:

  • 350/400 gr cod fillet for two people
  • 400 gr tomato pulp
  • 2 cloves of garlic
  • 2 spoons of oil
  • pepper as needed.
  • fish broth (if you want to speed up the time the fish nut)
  • pitted black olives about 150
  • for those who want a pinch of chilli

First, sauté the garlic with a little oil in a deep pan, if wok even better, in this way during cooking you will not get dirty everywhere.

Then add the tomato pulp, and cook over medium low heat (it should simmer) for about 10 minutes. Take the cod fillets and dip them in the pulp, in this way the two main flavors of the dish will combine.

Add a little pepper and pitted black olives to taste, after 5 minutes of cooking turn the fillets on the other side. If the pulp should shrink too much, add a little water and cook until a homogeneous sauce is obtained.

If you like, you can add a little parsley at the end, before serving. If you want to add a crunchy element to your plate, bread bruschettas are perfect, to make the shoe at the end.

This dish can be perfect to eat for both lunch and dinner, I assure you that it does not weigh down at all. Let’s say it is an alternative to fried cod or cod.
